Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club announced officially the Romanian coach, Cosmin Olaroiu, is the coach of Al Ain football first team. The coach was coaching Al Saad of Qatar team and Al Helal of Saudi Arabia team and now he is the coach of Al Ain after the Brazilian, Alexander Gallo. This was disclosed in a press conference held today afternoon in the club building, Al Sarouj. The press conference was held to introduce the Romanian coach as a new coach for Al Ain football first team. The conference, however, was attended by H.E. Mohammed Obeid Hamdoun, Al Ain Club Board of Directors member and the football sector supervisor in the club, Mohammed Obeid Hammad, Al Ain football first team supervisor, and Mattar Al Sahbani, Al Ain football first team manager in addition to some journalists and media representatives.
Hamdoun assured that the talks with the Romanian coach continued for one month and finally ended up by contracting with him to coach our football first team. He also indicated that Al Ain Club Board of Directors headed by Sheikh Abdullah Mohd Khaled S Al Nahyan, Al Ain Club Chairman, has been trying to find a coach attains the targets and the aspirations of Al Ain Club since he was assigned as the chairman. The Board of directors, however, found Cosmin is that coach they are looking for because his resume and work experience is full of achievements with both Al Saad and Al Helal clubs. In fact, we think that he is the best choice for the coming period to get Al Ain back to the right position.
H.E. added: Al Ain Club decided to let all the foreign players leave and contracted with the Romanian coach to choose other foreign or local players to join the first team. The new coach has a major role in choosing the new players in addition to choose the time and the place of the summer camp in coordination with the Mohammed Obeid Hammad, the first team supervisor, and Mattar Al Sahbani, the first team manager. However, there will be a meeting to announce all the related issues and next week there will be other announcement for the new foreign players in an official press conference.
About the news mentioned in some newspapers and website say that the Romanian Radoi contracted with Al Ain Club, Hamodun Said: Al Ain Club took the chance and talked to the player while he was in UAE and asked him to join the team, but no official negotiation happened, so there was lot of news and talks concerning this subject since the player was in UAE for few days and things are getting clearer in the coming days.
About Al Ain Attempts to bring the another player Moto to Al Ain Club, H.E. said: many names were suggested, but nothing decided yet and within the coming few days everything will be clear. However, I take this opportunity to thank the Brazilian coach, Alexander Gallo, for his efforts with the team.
Cosmin, the new coach of Al Ain football first team, and through his speech explained that his contract with Al Ain is for two years, expressing his pleasure by joining Al Ain Club saying that it honors him to join such a big club.
About his former knowledge of Al Ain Club before joining the club, he said: I have been following the club from the last year by watching the matches on TV and I know the players well only through TV. However, Al Ain Club has excellent young players since the reserve team won the title of the league and the U18 team also which is a promising thing and foretells about good future for Al Ain Club. However, I donít make a step without knowing where to lead. I always know the place that I go to, so I donít jump into the water without knowing the place.
He added: Iím here to know the characters of the players because it is important for any skillful player to have good character since he is an example for the younger players who need the experienced players to take care of them and all of this will help Al Ain club to reach what they are trying to be. Therefore, I will meet the players and discover their characters.
Answering a question about his aspirations with Al Ain Club, he said: I donít want to say that I will win the titles and the trophies, but I say I win the first match and move to the next. I think of each match separately. Victory, however, is not an easy thing and it needs work and time in addition to address the minds of the players appropriately until he reach the highest point of compatibility with the players.
He also indicated that he wants to work for a big club like Al Ain Club and he comes to Al Ain Club to achieve the ambitions of the Al Ain club in the coming period and he will start in July and he wishes to reach the targets in a short period which is a personal target for him too.
It is worthy to mention here that Cosmin Olaroiu started as a coach with Nationale Bucureşti Club 2000/2002. In 2002 Olăroiu signed for Steaua Bucureşti. After leaving Steaua Bucureşti, Olăroiu returns to National Bucureşti, this time as a general manager. In 2003 he was named head coach again, replacing Walter Zenga. Olăroius first championship title as coach came in June 2006 and then one month later his team also won the Supercupa Rom‚niei. In May 2006, Steaua Bucureşti coached by Olăroiu reached the semifinals of the UEFA Cup. Steaua Bucureşti with the coach Cosmin Olaroiu qualified in UEFA Champions League groups where they played against Dinamo Kiev, Real Madrid and Olympique Lyon. There, Olaroiu obtained the 3rd place and qualify for UEFA Cup.
In 2007 Olăroiu signed for Al-Hilal, supposedly drawn by the more attractive financial aspects that are typical of Saudi football. In 2008 he again proved his coaching worth, reaching the U-23 cup final, winning the Crown Prince Cup and the league title with Al-Hilal. He recently signed a two-year contract with Al-Sadd of Qatar. On 5 May 2011, Olăroiu was named supervisor for Steaua Bucureşti for the last three matches of Liga I in the 2010Ė11 season and 2011 Cupa Rom‚niei Final.
