Mohammed Obeid Hamdoun, Al Ain Club board of director member and the gerenral football game supervisor in Al Ain club and head of professionalism committee in Al Ain Club confirmed that the goalkeeper of Al Sharjah Club, Mahmoud Al Mas signed to Al Ain for three seasons, until 2014, explaining that the board of directors were keen to meet the coaching and the administration staffs to discuss some issues like the positions needed for the team during the coming season to be able of coming back well and compete for the titles. He also added: Al Ain went through bad circumstances due to lack of goalkeepers last season since most of them got injured, starting by Waleed Salem who was absent almost for the whole season, and then he got injured again. After that we had Yusuf Abdurrahman who involved in a car accident, and finally Abdullah Sultan who is now in a recovery status after got injured in his knee which demanded long period before coming back to the pitch in addition to the circumstances that prevented Ismail Rabie of joining the camp in Italy recently because of his attendance and his will of coming back to his previous club, Al Shabab, so decided to lent the palyer to Al Shabab club or any other club needs his services.
All of the above mentioned reasons required us to look for an excellent goalkeeper in UAE who can be a good addition to Al Ain Club in the coming season. Therefore, we chose Mahmoud Al Mas since he is considered as one of the best goalkeepers in UAE next to Ali Khasif and Majid Nasser. However, we wish him success in Al Ain club during the coming period.
Answering a question about the amount of money of Al Mas deal which has been announced by some sports lounges recently as AED 12 millions, in addition to AED 17 millions for Nawaf Mubarak, he said: first I would like to say that we in Al Ain Club board of directors headed by Sheikh Abdullah Mohd Khaled S Al Nahyan are dealing with the fans transparently. Also we are fully aware of the importance of partnership of the different media means, but we again stress on the importance of speaking accurately and honestly before disclosing and press release related to Al Ain Club. We are aware fully that the success of any work should be based on dealing clearly with everyone. However, concerning the numbers mentioned, I assure that they are not true and I think they are beyond imagination. Frankly speaking, the value of Al Masís contract with Al Ain club was agreed between the two clubs and it was a logical deal and isnít exaggerated. I think that some newspapers were lucky by mentioning the correct number but concerning Nawaf Mubarak deal, I say that we didnít have any deal with him. So again I ask for accuracy and honesty concerning Al Ain Club news and should be away of expectations.
About the camp of Al Ain in Italy, he said: the camp is going well as planned for and things are moving smoothly. There are many positive points represented in the coming back of the injured players like Mohammed Fayez, who showed good level in the first friendly match against Riskoni. Also all the players are willing to show their best that answer Al Ain aspirations and ambitions which is considered one of the most important in the camp in Italy although it is obvious to have a normal start in any camp through it the team didnít reach the readiness level technically and physically against an ordinary team because the main target of the match is like a training but in a form of a match to have enthusiasm and excitement for the players regardless of wining or losing. The sought advantages of the match are only technical ones and the coaching team is considered a new one in addition to the lack of some players since there are four international players and four foreign players didnít play in the friendly match. on Saturday we are playing against Palermo, the experienced team with great history and it is the eight team in the Italian professional league. Certainly we are seeking the technical benefit away of the result of the match. Eventually the players who are going to play in the match against Palermo will be decided by the coach and Scocco is not expected to play since he reached two days before after long journey. About the third foreign player and the Asian one, he said: we wished to announce the deals of the foreign and the Asian players last week after we reached a good level in negotiations but the moving market circumstances and the competition from the other clubs for excellent players always have surprises concerning the financial issues. However, we are very near to contract with the foreign and the Asian players and as soon as they sign we will announce them through the official media channels to join Al Ain camp in Austria. There are some local players are entitled to join Al Ain and the coach knows them.
About the absence of Salem Abdullah of the match, he said: I would like to tell the fans that Salem Abdullah is fine and he is ready, but he was absent for long period so he needs a special rehabilitation program and it is a risk to push him in a match even a friendly one. However, the player is training well and it is expected to see him in the friendly matches with the team and he is considered a good addition to the team and his injury was one of the reasons behind the deterioration of Al Ain results last season.
Answering a question about the condition of Omar Abdurrahman, and Faraj Juma, he said: I would like to tell also the fans that they are fine Where the MRI showed that Omar is slightly injured and the doctor asked him to rest in addition to a program for muscles and rehabilitation and it may lasts for two weeks. No doubt Omar is an important player in our National team and the Olympic, but our national team doesnít depend on one player and wish the team success in the match against the Indian team. On the other hand, Faraj Juma is waiting for the doctor report and he is fine too and the doctorís report will decide whether he is going to be treated in or outside the state.
